The Disaster Management Area Coordinator serves as the chief regional emergency management advisor to the Area E Joint Powers Authority.
The position combines executive leadership, strategic planning, program management, and operational coordination to advance Area E's and its member jurisdictions' emergency management capabilities.
The DMAC serves as the primary liaison between Area E and the Los Angeles County Operational Area while maintaining collaborative relationships with CAL OES, FEMA, neighboring Disaster Management Areas, public safety agencies, nonprofit organizations, and other governmental partners.
Under the policy direction of the General Board and Executive Committee, the DMAC develops and implements regional emergency management initiatives, administers grant-funded programs, supports emergency operations, and promotes collaboration among member jurisdictions.
Success in this position requires balancing strategic leadership with operational effectiveness while building trusted relationships among elected officials, city managers, emergency managers, public safety leaders, and partner agencies.
